About the Event

We are thrilled to announce an upcoming event that promises to be both enlightening and thought-provoking. Our community will be hosting a conversation and discussion with Professor Richard D. Hecht, Professor Emeritus of Religious Studies at UC Santa Barbara.

Professor Hecht, a distinguished scholar in Hebrew Judaic Studies and History of Religion, brings a wealth of knowledge and unique perspectives to our gathering. Trained under the influence of renowned religious historian Mircea Eliade, Professor Hecht has dedicated his career to exploring the intricate intersections of religion, politics, and culture.

His work, including the acclaimed book 'To Rule Jerusalem,' co-authored with Roger Friedland, delves into the complex religious and political landscape of one of the world's most sacred cities. Professor Hecht's multidisciplinary approach and comparative studies offer valuable insights into the lived experiences of religion in our modern world.

This event presents a rare opportunity to engage with a leading mind…
