About the Event

Events in the Middle East have spurred divisions in our own communities – even divisions within Jewish and Muslim communities. Rabbi Debi Lewis will be joined by Kalyan Balaven (Head of Dunn School and co-creator of the Inclusion Dashboard for K-12 schools) to discuss how conversations about the Middle East are often undermined and polarized by misconceptions and limitations of language. They will discuss progressive movements within Judaism and Islam, as well as how "empathy" and "inclusion," when properly understood, could foster more constructive conversations and even allyship. The conversation will be moderated by Dan Meisel, former Regional Director of ADL Tri-Counties.
